Bible Book Club: 30 Days of Reading

I am eager and pleased to introduce a our very first Bible Book Club. Many of us at one time or another have been apart of a book club. Generally I love to read romance, drama, thriller or suspense novels but I think that Bible stories are just as interesting. Anyone who study their Bible knows that there are tons of amazing stories. The only problem is that over the years we may neglect or shy away from continual reading with the thought that “Oh, I’ve read that story before”. The actual fact of the matter is the more you grow spiritually the more understanding you receive each and every time you reread any Bible story.

Let’s be clear, I am not the type of person to read something just to say “Yea, I read that already.” But, I think that learning and reading collectively for a greater cause is a great idea. The goal of this Bible Book Club is for myself and others to stay engaged in the Bible & it’s related books. It makes it more interesting when you can talk and share your excitement for great stories and lessons that are learned in these books. I would love to see if others die laughing or become in total shock with the stories that we can totally relate to in modern day even though it happened thousands of years ago.

The first book of the BBC  (Bible Book Club) will be The Book of Jasher. I have heard of the great stories and tales in this amazing book. Maybe about a year or two ago I had actually started to read the book but I didn’t get that far for whatever reason. There is no better time to start than now to get my read on with my sistah’s. I look forward to sharing thoughts and pivotal moments throughout the book so that I will stay engaged and encouraged to finish.

This month’s reading The Book of Jasher will last for 30 days starting Sunday March 9th through Monday April 10th. There are 91 chapters in the book therefore the goal is to read at least 3 chapters a day. We will be scheduled to meet up and review the previous chapters every Sunday and Thursday. The first review day will start next Thursday covering chapters 1-12.

Here is the link to read The Book of Jasher online. You can click the link and print it out to create a book just in case you don’t already own the book itself.

I hope that many of you will join along even if you have read this book already. Fellowship and reading collectively can definitely open your eyes to points you may have missed the first, second or third time around.

Also, we are taking suggestions for  next month’s Bible Book Club reading.

Y’all stay blessed.

Get Your Juice On! : 10 Juicing Recipes

It’s safe to stay that I have been consistently juicing at least a few times a week since I bought my first “real” juicer last May. Looking back I am very grateful that I made that investment. Since juicing it has made my health 100x better. No more medication just one tall glass of juice for the morning and my day is good. Just imagine how great I would do if I juiced at least 3x a day.

Sometimes I keep up with my hip hop heads and listen to some interviews on YouTube from the breakfast club. I have noticed that several old school rappers or dj’s have confessed to joining the juicing bandwagon. Though it borderline seems like a fad I truly think that once you start juicing and reaping all those wonderful benefits of vitamins and energy you will make it a permanent lifestyle choice.

Juicing definitely gives me a lot of energy. It helps me think clearer and it also helps me to start my day on a positive note. There are so many things that I love to juice on a regular basis.

Carrots, beets, spinach, celery, broccoli stems, cabbage, ginger, parsley, apples, cucumber, strawberries, sweet potatoes and oranges.

I usually make sure I have at least 90% of these veggies on hand every week when I go shopping.

Soon I will add the following into my diet.

Kale, blueberries, raspberries, cherries, blue berries, and mangoes.

There are a million websites that offer tons of free juicing recipes. The ones below are tried and true. Some of them I think I made up in my head because I usually use what I have already on hand. Either way, I hope you guys enjoy and try them all!

10 Juicing Recipes

Sistah Anonymous: The Daughter

Shalam Sisters!

There is no other way for a believer in/of Christ to become the new man without studying and doing what is suggested.Taking time out to find out for yourself what is required of you, is up to you! You can’t mind someone else’s business to understand what you’re supposed to do. The Most High laid it on your heart. He called you! So, using the scriptures as a character barometer is an absolute sure fire way to achieve and understand your mission and your gift.

I wanted more than what was presented to me as a ” Successful” life. I didn’t want money, clothes or notoriety. All of that was cool, but I prefer a whole family and peace within myself. That’s it! I wanted to understand how to obtain and maintain that. Not easy by any stretch of the imagination, a quest that everyone is invited to take. Not everyone chooses Christ, but to me it was/is the obvious answer to my desire.

As I stated in part one my choices and focus was off- collar, so it was time to clean house. You know when your trying to change, all of a sudden Satan would bring all his minions out the woods just so The father’s kingdom don’t prevail, but it a great thing that its already done and we are just playing our roles.

Learning how to be patient with yourself and others as your discernment is being exercise. Casting down imaginations and forgiving yourself and others are fantastic weaponry.

Here are some scriptures and definitions that help me daily to obtain, maintain and retain my personal boundaries.

Boundaries- The outer limit. perimeter, boarder line, outline…

The- uhh uhh don’t even try me. Thee- oh really, you tried it. The Big red & White sign that said

Meditate- contemplate,ponder, deliberate ….
The Leave me be, I’m in my own world kinda space… gotta get to growing!!!

Exodus 20:1 And God spake all these words, saying, (20:2) I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. (20:3) Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (3:17) That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour; (2:14) Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

1Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Proverbs 2:10 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; (2:11) Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

Psalms 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite ( Regretful) heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Mathew 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. (6:9) After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. (6:10) Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (6:11) Give us this day our daily bread.(6:12) And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. (6:13) And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Mathew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. (Mat 7:2) For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. (Mat 7:3) And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? (Mat 7:4) Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? (Mat 7:5) Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

Sistah Anonymous: The Daughter, Sister, Wife and Mother in Christ!

Hello Y’all,
This week I would like to introduce “Sistah Anonymous”. She will be with us weekly sharing her wisdom as a Daughter, Sister, Wife and Mother in Christ. Show her some love, support and leave comments because I am sure we all can relate to her chronicles. Now without further ado, I present…

Sistah Anonymous

The Daughter:

Every time I go to share my thoughts, what echoes in my spirit is Mathew 7:1-5. It gets louder and louder combating every other thought. Makes me want to just concentrate and do the work. The work that needs to be done to fulfill my faith. To show and prove what I believe is mighty and true, The word of The Most High!

Someone once told me “Everyone is broken, It’s the glue we choose to use that matters the most” I didn’t have the slightest clue what she was talking about, until I noticed I was broken and needed to be fixed. Everything I did and every circumstance I found myself in, was me trying to find the super glue that held “ME” together.

The process to unraveling my character at first was absolutely the hardest thing to do. Drowning in a victim’s mentality, stuck in a child-like state , I realized my actions was rooted in the generational confusion that plagued the men and women in my family. Traumatic experiences like molestation, abuses, neglect suffered by the trusted hands of family members and or family friends; created a distorted perception that was passed along and viewed as “Normal”. When I examined closely, it was most people within my immediate circle and in my environment that dealt with a derivative of those same deep-seeded issues. After trial and error I was certain that Christ aka The Bible Scriptures (The word) was the key to unblocking my journey. It was now time to dive deeper and take the mote out of my eye. The mote was not a speck. It was a full- on bolder. If there was a slight chance of an efficacious life, it was time to stop the hypocrisy and change my mind (repent).

Amongst a huge list of, lets just called them “concerns” was my inability to create “personal boundaries.” So much hangs on that concept; my self worth/ self esteem, belief in my competency to complete a task , Who/what I should give my attention/time to, all hung on this notion. How so? you may ask, I was one of those that needed to be loved. without a clear cut understanding of what it was, what it should look like. My definition of love was the “feeling of right.” That’s it. It was love if it felt right. lol… Thank the father for Christ ’cause that is not the definition to live by. As a result my life was filled with poor choices. I thought I was avoiding the mistakes of the elder women, but I just found myself in a remix version of their mistakes. The 2000 edition.

Discretion and it’s relevancy was something I had no idea of. I don’t know if you have ever been in a place you don’t want to be because of your decisions, but I really wasn’t interested in going any further. No amount of money or prior accomplishments was worth it. Along with the fact, I am 144,000% sure I am accountable for my ways, a clean up mission was necessary. Crazy how deep it can go, but once I realized this, it was time to allow the father to create some limits, one scripture at a time.

I’m far from done. I have a WAYS———–> to go, but I am grateful for The Father and his decision to send his son. The perfect prescription to conquer all things in life is within the word.Praise the Most High, for his mercy endureth forever!Stay tuned for the precepts on Friday.
